Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-966 instances are to be contained in a 5m x 5m x 5m sealed containment chamber constructed of reinforced steel. The chamber must be equipped with soundproofing material to prevent the transmission of SCP-966 vocalizations outside the containment area. Illumination within the chamber should be kept below 20 lux at all times, as SCP-966 are sensitive to light.
Personnel entering SCP-966's containment chamber must wear soundproofed headphones emitting white noise and infrared goggles to prevent detection by SCP-966. Any interactions with SCP-966 must be conducted using non-verbal communication to avoid triggering aggressive behavior.
Routine patrols and monitoring of SCP-966 populations in the wild are to be conducted by Mobile Task Forces equipped with infrared imaging equipment and tranquilizer rifles. Any sightings or instances of SCP-966 activity in populated areas must be reported to Site Command for immediate containment and amnesticization of witnesses.
Description:
SCP-966 are a species of nocturnal, predatory creatures resembling hairless, digitigrade mammals measuring approximately 1.5 meters in length and weighing 30 kg on average. They possess elongated limbs and sharp claws optimized for stealth and ambush hunting. SCP-966 exhibit heightened agility and strength, enabling them to move swiftly and silently, making them difficult to detect.
SCP-966 are largely invisible to the naked eye due to their ability to refract light, but they can be detected using infrared imaging technology. They emit a distinct vocalization similar to human speech, which they use to communicate and coordinate during hunts. Exposure to SCP-966 vocalizations induces insomnia, paranoia, and auditory hallucinations in affected individuals.
SCP-966 are primarily nocturnal hunters, preying on humans and animals during the night. Their hunting behavior involves stalking and immobilizing their prey before consuming them. SCP-966 instances have been reported to coordinate their attacks and display rudimentary intelligence when hunting in packs.
