Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-106 is to be contained within a sealed containment chamber at all times, consisting of a 10 m x 10 m x 3 m steel cube with interior surfaces coated in 6 cm of lead shielding. The containment chamber must be equipped with infrared motion detectors, pressure sensors, and automated defense systems capable of neutralizing SCP-106 in the event of a breach.
The containment chamber should be kept flooded with a mixture of water and hydrochloric acid at all times, maintained at a pH level of 2. The water level must be kept at a depth of at least 1.5 m to prevent SCP-106 from breaching containment. SCP-106's containment chamber must undergo regular maintenance to repair any damage caused by SCP-106's corrosive properties.
Personnel entering SCP-106's containment chamber must wear full hazmat suits and be equipped with tether lines and emergency teleportation devices. Any personnel caught by SCP-106 must be rescued immediately, and containment procedures outlined in Protocol 106-Theta must be initiated.
Description:
SCP-106, also known as "The Old Man," is a humanoid entity of unknown origin, resembling an elderly male with decaying skin and advanced stages of decomposition. SCP-106 exhibits anomalous properties related to corrosion, corrosion, and spatial manipulation.
SCP-106's primary anomalous trait is its ability to phase through solid matter, including walls and floors, as well as its corrosive touch, which rapidly deteriorates any material it comes into contact with. SCP-106 has been observed to actively seek out and capture individuals, primarily targeting young or physically fit victims.
Once a victim is captured by SCP-106, it will take them to its "pocket dimension," a spatial anomaly accessible only to SCP-106. Within this pocket dimension, SCP-106 subjects its victims to prolonged periods of torment and decay, with few individuals ever returning alive.
SCP-106 has demonstrated advanced intelligence and cunning, often employing tactics such as ambushes and decoys to capture its prey. Attempts to communicate with SCP-106 have been largely unsuccessful, with the entity showing little interest in human interaction.
