Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-1048 is to be contained within a standard humanoid containment chamber at Site-██. The walls and floor of the containment chamber must be constructed of reinforced steel and monitored by closed-circuit cameras at all times. Any instances of SCP-1048's activity or anomalous behavior must be reported immediately to Site Command.
SCP-1048 is to be provided with a supply of art materials, including paper, pencils, and crayons, to prevent it from becoming agitated or hostile. Personnel entering SCP-1048's containment chamber must undergo psychological evaluation and be equipped with soundproofed headphones to prevent exposure to its vocalizations.
Any objects created by SCP-1048 must be cataloged and examined for signs of anomalous properties. Instances of SCP-1048-A, SCP-1048-B, and SCP-1048-C are to be contained separately from SCP-1048 to prevent interaction between them.
Description:
SCP-1048 is a humanoid entity resembling a teddy bear, measuring approximately 33 centimeters in height. It is composed of various materials commonly found in children's toys, including fabric, plastic, and stuffing. SCP-1048 exhibits no anomalous properties when observed directly.
SCP-1048's primary anomalous trait manifests when it comes into contact with materials such as wood, metal, or glass. SCP-1048 will use these materials to create smaller versions of itself, designated SCP-1048-A, which are indistinguishable from non-anomalous teddy bears except for their anomalous properties.
Instances of SCP-1048-A have been observed to exhibit independent movement and behavior, including vocalizations similar to those of young children. SCP-1048-A instances display a strong attachment to individuals, often seeking out human companionship and affection.
However, SCP-1048-A instances have been known to exhibit unpredictable and sometimes hostile behavior, including attacks on humans and attempts to construct additional instances of SCP-1048. It is believed that SCP-1048-A instances are capable of reproducing through unknown means.
SCP-1048 has been observed to emit vocalizations resembling those of a distressed human child, often using these vocalizations to lure individuals towards it. SCP-1048's motives and intentions remain unclear, and its true nature is the subject of ongoing research and speculation.
