Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-066 is to be contained in a standard anomalous object containment locker at Site-██. Access to SCP-066 requires Level 2 clearance and must be approved by Site Administration. Experimentation with SCP-066 requires authorization from at least one Level 3 researcher.
SCP-066 is to be handled with caution, and direct physical contact should be avoided unless necessary for research purposes. When not under experimentation, SCP-066 is to remain inactive and secured within its containment locker.
Description:
SCP-066 appears to be a small, semi-spherical toy resembling a rubber bouncing ball, approximately 8 centimeters in diameter. It is composed of a highly elastic material that allows it to bounce with unusual vigor. SCP-066's surface is covered in various colors and patterns, including cartoonish eyes and mouths resembling those found on children's toys.
SCP-066 displays anomalous properties when activated by physical contact, such as bouncing or being squeezed. Upon activation, SCP-066 will emit a variety of sounds and vocalizations, including laughter, screams, and other vocal expressions. These vocalizations are often described as being unsettling or disturbing in nature.
Additionally, when SCP-066 is activated, small, eyeball-like organs will emerge from its surface and scan its surroundings. These eyeballs display autonomous movement and appear to possess visual capabilities, although their exact nature and function remain unknown.
SCP-066 is capable of engaging in rudimentary communication through its vocalizations and movements. It has been observed to respond to external stimuli and interact with individuals in its vicinity, though its behavior is unpredictable and inconsistent.
Despite its playful appearance, SCP-066's vocalizations and behavior can have detrimental effects on individuals exposed to them for prolonged periods. Subjects have reported experiencing feelings of unease, anxiety, and paranoia after prolonged exposure to SCP-066's vocalizations.
